Pascual Martínez (Murcia, 1977) and Vincent Sáez (Almoradí, 1976) are two photographers working together since 2013. Their profile as designers and curators of exhibitions makes them face each project as a whole, creating on each one a complete and unique experience.
Maybe it is their collective work that gives them a deep look on human relationships and their conditioning of the natural environment that surrounds them, leading them to work in the form of anthropological research. Identity, defined by this same environment, is their central axis and they put the focus by eliminating topics to delve into the true human nature. Knowledge is what drives people away from clichés and prejudices. Their photographs bring us closer to different realities so that we can identify with others, no matter how far they may be. In their images we can discover different layers of identities in which each viewer finds their own record in them.
With The tree of life is eternally green they want to show us the reality of a Romania linked to nature, in which personal relationships are woven in depth and emerge in consonance with the environment. This is the first of the three steps of their stay in a country so unknown by the Western vision as frowned upon. A nature, landscape and climate that limits and shapes the personalities and relationships that are intertwined in it and of those who have been front row spectators to bring us this delicate testimony.
Their works bring a sense of isolation and belonging to a group, as they develop the personalities of their protagonists, always in line with an arid environment and mutable seasonally, in continuous rebirth. A universal and completely individual sensation that winks at the spectator searching its roots.
